Quaker Oats has initiated a recall of certain granola bars and cereals due to a potential risk of contamination with salmonella.

Quaker Oats, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, has issued a recall for numerous granola bars and granola cereals due to potential contamination with salmonella. The announcement was made on Friday through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The affected products include various flavors of Quaker Big Chewy Bars, variety packs, and Quaker Simply Granola cereals.

The recall encompasses sales in all 50 states, as well as Puerto Rico, Guam, and Saipan, as confirmed by the FDA. It is strongly advised that consumers refrain from consuming any of the recalled Quaker products and dispose of them appropriately. For further information or product reimbursement, individuals can reach out to Quaker Consumer Relations at 1-800-492-9322 or visit www.quakergranolarecall.com.

The FDA states that Salmonella, a bacterium, can enter the food preparation chain when individuals involved in food handling neglect proper handwashing or fail to maintain sanitary conditions in the food production process. The primary mode of transmission for this bacterium occurs most commonly in raw or undercooked foods.
